In The Pocket Collective Project: Summer 2021
In the summer of 2021, Liam Gallagher introduced his In The Pocket Collective Project. The project formed a collective of younger professional jazz musicians from around the Denver area, exposing them to new opportunities and creative outlets. This collective is also Gallagher's step into the world of bandleading and promotion. The group is comrprised of graduates from Denver School of the Arts, one of the top performing art schools in the country, as well as musicians involved in the prestigious Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts Messengers, an award winning jazz combo.
The goals of the project are:
1.Give younger professional musicians opportunities to perform, work, and find a creative outlet.
2.Foster promotional skills needed to further careers in music.
3.Establish connections between musicians in a collaborative environment.
In The Pocket members have performed at countless clubs, concert halls, festivals, taprooms, and galleries. The collective prioritizes professionalism, creativity, and flexibility, all qualities that will push the collective to the next level. This is the future of jazz.
